Why I Increased My MET Stake to 30,000

I’ve been using Meteora to provide liquidity for more than two years. MET, the token, launched in October 2025, but I was already using the protocol well before that. So my interest in this project started with the product.
When I first wrote about its staking program, I staked 5,000 MET to see how it would develop. I’m now staking 30,000 MET.
Yes, I’m bullish.

What changed with staking
Meteora’s staking and referral program was originally a three-cycle trial. After those cycles, the team decided to continue it. Rewards are paid in USDC and come from a share of fees the protocol earns when people trade through eligible DLMM pools. This is a lot better than getting airdropped MET, and we get to see events that can put sell pressure on the token.
There’s a new rule you need to know. Starting in Cycle 4, staking alone is not enough to claim staking rewards. You must open an eligible liquidity position during that cycle and earn at least $10 in LP fees from positions opened in that same cycle. If you don’t meet the requirement, you lose that cycle’s staking rewards, though your staked MET remains yours.
Earning $10 in fees also does not mean your LP position made a $10 profit. The tokens in a pool can change in value. Learn how LPing works before putting money in just to qualify.
Why I still like MET and will continue to advocate for this Protocol
I’ve seen the product develop while using it. Meteora’s H1 2026 report recorded $18.2 million in protocol revenue. That is separate from the fees LPs earned, and it does not mean every dollar flows to MET holders. But the staking program gives eligible MET stakers a share of DLMM protocol fees. That connection between product use and token utility is part of my ZFT Research thesis.
I’m also watching what the team builds next. DLMM Pro has a waitlist, with a plan to bring features from Meteora’s liquidity and token-launch products into one place. It still needs to ship and prove useful. If Meteora keeps making LPing easier while attracting more trading activity, I think MET has a case to be one of the stronger Solana performers this bull cycle.
I have one more hope for the future: a vault where people could choose to delegate funds to experienced LP managers. You know, **ahem**, professionals. 😄
That’s my wish, not a Meteora product announcement. Who knows?
I’d want to see clear performance records, fees, and risk controls before trusting anyone with that role.
For now, I’m staking my 30,000+ MET and watching the actual usage, rewards, and product releases. I can be bullish and still change my view if the numbers stop supporting it.

Where to start
If you want to explore staking, read the current rules and check eligible pools here. My code is embedded so feel free to use it since you'll need it anyways.
If LPing is new to you, start with this free lesson. It uses Orca to teach the basics; it isn’t a Meteora tutorial. I’m working on Meteora-specific LP lessons and plan to make those available for free soon.
